Mixed numbers are whole numbers with fractions while improper fractions have their numerators larger than their denominators.

Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers

After conversion of mixed numbers to improper fractions, the next topic will be the reverse and it is converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. We are going to change the improper fractions back to mixed numbers. This will be explained in details as you watch video tutorials with several examples. Addition and Subtraction of Similar Fractions

The next lesson is adding and subtracting similar fractions. Similar fractions are fractions whose denominators are the same. It is easier to add and subtract this type of fraction because all you need to do is add or subtract all the numerators and just copy the denominator.

Dissimilar to Similar Fractions

You will also know how to change dissimilar fractions to similar fractions. If similar fractions have the same denominators, dissimilar fractions have different denominators. Before you can add or subtract fractions their denominators have to be the same. In other words, they have to be similar fractions first.

Absolute Value
